ABOUT UMAI MI
The name is the combination of Japanese words umai (delicious) and mi (taste), a phrase that originates from the early 1900's. Used to describe the 'fifth taste', the moreish combination of sweet, sour, salty and bitter.
Over the last few decades, the phrase umami has been applied to many different cuisines and palates, referencing the crave-able flavour. Umai Mi is everywhere – examples ranging from mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, seafood, dry-aged meats, cheeses & fermented products.
Once the blend of the profound flavours coats your tongue, it will leave you longing for the next bite. Simply put, our mouths have taste receptors for Umai Mi, which leaves a lingering, savoury & moreish sensation.
A traditional Bento may hold a carbohydrate, such as rice or noodles, along with proteins such as fish, meat & tofu. Bento will usually have a small eat to complement the dish, such as vegetable or protein side.

Umai Mi Bento is a new concept in dining, encompassing an eclectic selection of Asian flavours and varied dishes, to enjoy the full modern day Oriental experience.

There are 3 main ways to Bento that make up the menu: HOT BENTO, SUSHI BURRITO & POKE BOWL. All at your choice, with what you want, and tailored to your requirements.

The fridge will stock a selection of GRAB N GO food, which will be bursting with freshness and flavour. A selection of drinks will be available to choose from to complete your dining experience.
